The first documented mention
|
The first documented mention of flu in birds, initially referred to as exudative chicken typhus, the Braunschweig disease, and later—as European Fowl Pest (EFP), was registered in Italy at the end of the 18th century. In 1900, viral nature of the disease was stated, and in 1956 it was proved that the causative agent belonged to flu virus.
